Your free subdomain

Every site gets a free webpress.id web address. Here's how to choose it, change it later, and take your site offline.

Every Webpress site can go live, for free, at an address like yourname.webpress.id. It's the fastest way to get on the web — no domain to buy, no DNS to configure, with secure HTTPS handled for you.

Choose your address

  1. Click Publish in the editor header to open Project Settings → Domain.
  2. Choose the free webpress.id address option.
  3. Type a subdomain — the yourname part of yourname.webpress.id. Webpress checks availability as you type and shows Available! or Taken.
  4. Click Save subdomain, then Publish.

Your site is now live at yourname.webpress.id. The Domain tab shows the live URL with Copy and Open buttons so you can share it right away.

Picking a good subdomain

  • Keep it short and memorable — your business or brand name is ideal.
  • Use letters, numbers, and hyphens only.
  • It's case-insensitive (AcmeStudio and acmestudio are the same).

Change your subdomain later

You can rename your address whenever you like:

  1. Open Project Settings → Domain.
  2. Edit the subdomain (availability is checked live).
  3. Save. Your site moves to the new address.

If you've shared the old address anywhere, update those links — the old subdomain becomes free for someone else to claim.

Take your site offline

In the Domain tab you can Unpublish to take the site down, and Make live to bring it back. Your project and all your work stay safe either way.

Free plan note

On the Free plan you can publish one page to a webpress.id address. To publish more pages, add more projects, or use your own domain, see Plans & pricing.

Want your own domain instead?

A custom domain like yourbrand.com looks more professional and is available on paid plans. See Custom domains.
