What coins are, the difference between monthly and purchased coins, what they're spent on, and how to top up — your in-app credit for AI features.

Coins are Webpress's in-app credit. They're used to pay for AI features — generating pages, editing with the chat assistant, and the design copilot — because each of those runs a powerful model. Your coin balance lives per workspace; open Coins in the dashboard sidebar to see it.
What coins pay for
Coins are spent on AI generation:
- building or editing with the AI assistant (charged per message),
- the AI design copilot (charged per action).
Before any AI action runs, Webpress shows an estimate (e.g. "≈3 coins"), and afterward the actual amount charged — so there are no surprises. Designing and publishing your site by hand never costs coins.
Two kinds of coins
Your balance is made of two kinds, and you don't have to manage them separately — Webpress always spends the right ones first:

Your balance is simply the total of both. When you spend, Webpress uses the soonest-to-expire coins first, so your purchased coins stick around.
The Coins page
The Coins page shows:
- your current balance, with a breakdown of expiring (monthly) vs permanent (purchased) coins,
- when your next monthly coins expire,
- top-up packages to buy more,
- a history of every coin granted, spent, expired, or refunded.
Top up
Need more than your monthly allowance?
- Open the Coins page.
- Pick a top-up package.
- Pay through the secure checkout (the same payment methods as billing). You can apply a coupon here too.
Purchased coins land in your balance once payment is confirmed and never expire.
Tips
- Iterate efficiently. Specific prompts get better results in fewer tries — see Building with the AI assistant.
- Monthly coins first. Since monthly coins reset, lean on them within the cycle; your purchased coins wait safely for later.
Coins are an optional, usage-based extra. If your plan's monthly allowance is enough for your AI use, you never need to buy more.
