Join the creator program to publish your own templates and plugins for the whole Webpress community to use.

The contributor program lets you give back to the community by publishing your own templates and plugins. If you've built designs you're proud of, you can share them — attributed to you — in everyone's template picker and marketplace. Contributing is free.

How it works, start to finish

  1. Apply. Fill in the creator registration with your name, avatar, and a short bio.
  2. Get approved. An administrator reviews and approves creators. Once approved, a creator badge appears on your profile and contributor tools unlock in your sidebar. (Approval shows up on your next sign-in.)
  3. Create. Build and publish templates and plugins (below).
  4. Get reviewed. Each submission is checked by a moderator before it goes public, so the catalog stays high-quality.
  5. Get used. Approved templates and plugins appear — credited to you — for the whole community.

Publishing a template

Approved creators author templates in a special Template Editor — the same editor you already know, in a single-page mode:

  1. From your contributor tools, create a template (give it a name and category).
  2. Design your page in the editor.
  3. Click Publish as Template. It's submitted for review as a community template.

Once approved, it shows up under the Community tab of the template picker, with your name on it. You can manage your submissions under My Templates.

Template projects are separate from your websites — they belong to your account, not a workspace, and don't use a subdomain or count against your plan's project limit.

Publishing a plugin

You can also publish marketplace plugins. Community plugins are declarative — you describe the blocks and styles your plugin adds (no third-party code runs), which keeps them safe for everyone. Submit one from your contributor tools; it goes through the same review, then appears in the Marketplace. Manage them under My Plugins.

Why contribute

  • Reach — your work helps thousands of people build their sites.
  • Recognition — everything you publish is attributed to you with a creator badge.
  • It's free — publishing templates and plugins costs nothing.
