Publishing & Domains

Publishing your site

Go live on a free webpress.id address or connect your own custom domain.

Last updated 2026-06-19

When your site is ready, publishing takes it live on the web. You can use a free webpress.id subdomain or your own domain.

Publish to a free address

  1. Click Publish in the editor header (top-right). This opens Project Settings on the Domain tab.
  2. Choose the free webpress.id address option.
  3. Enter a subdomain (for example, mysite). Webpress checks availability as you type and shows Available! or Taken.
  4. Click Save subdomain, then Publish.

Your site goes live at mysite.webpress.id. The Domain tab shows the live URL with Copy and Open buttons.

Connect a custom domain

Custom domains are available on paid plans.

  1. In Project Settings → Domain, choose Use your own domain.
  2. Enter your domain (for example, mybrand.com).
  3. Webpress shows the DNS records to add — typically a record that points your domain to us and one that proves you own it.
  4. Add those records at your domain registrar (where you bought the domain).
  5. Back in Webpress, click Verify. Once the records are detected, your site goes live on your domain with HTTPS set up automatically.

DNS changes can take a little while to propagate. If verification doesn't pass immediately, wait a few minutes and try Verify again.

Update a published site

After you publish, the header button becomes Update. Whenever you make changes, click Update content in the Domain tab (or Update in the header) to push your latest edits live. You'll see a confirmation when the update finishes.

Unpublish

In the Domain tab's status section you can Unpublish at any time to take the site offline, and Make live to bring it back.
