Pasta behind door nine

Thirty-eight seats at Rua dos Remédios 9. Pasta rolled by hand every afternoon, doors open at 19:00, Tuesday to Saturday.

The green door at Rua dos Remédios 9 at dusk, lamp light spilling onto the cobbles The open door at number nine in the blue hour, warm light from the room inside Door number nine in the last sun of the evening, long shadows across the lane

Nove means nine. It is the number on the green door at Rua dos Remédios, a steep cobbled lane in Alfama where the tram bells carry up between tiled façades.

Inside there is one small room with thirty-eight seats and about ten wooden tables. That is all of it, which is why booking matters.

Every afternoon, before service, the pasta is rolled by hand on a wooden board with a long pin: flour, eggs, nothing else. It is cooked that night and not kept for tomorrow.

The kitchen is Italian in technique and Portuguese in produce. We serve dinner only, Tuesday to Saturday, with doors at 19:00. Closed Sunday and Monday.

Read the short menu below, then call to hold a table.
