Mirante is the Portuguese word for a viewpoint, the place you walk out to when you want to see how far the sea goes.
Casa Mirante stands on the cliffs above Ericeira, a whitewashed village of blue-trimmed houses and a World Surfing Reserve. It has six rooms and no more.
The light here is Atlantic light: flat and silver in the morning, with wind, and sometimes a fog that rolls in and takes the horizon away for an hour.
Breakfast is served to guests each morning. The surf at Ribeira d'Ilhas is ten minutes on foot. We open in March and close in November.

Breakfast is served to guests. The lookout is open to everyone staying.
We open in March and close in November. The winter belongs to the wind, and the house rests with it.

We keep the season short so the house stays small and looked after. Come for the surf at Ribeira d'Ilhas, or just for the view.
