How it's made

Made in Porto

From clay to your door

Every batch is made in small numbers and fired together. Five steps, in this order, and your set leaves the workshop within a week.

1 Throw

Dripper, carafe and two cups are thrown in stoneware and left to dry on the wedging table. Each keeps a bare clay ring at the base.

2 Mix the glaze

We mix the glaze by hand, one bucket per batch. Slightly different every time, which is why no two sets match.

3 Dip

Each piece is dipped by hand. The glaze pools darker at the foot, thins on the rims and runs in the odd drip.

4 Fire

The whole batch goes into the kiln together. What comes out is the glaze you see, set in place.

5 Pack and ship

Four pieces are wrapped, boxed and sent across the EU within a week of your order.

Can it go in the dishwasher?

Yes, all four pieces can. Hand washing keeps the satin glaze looking its best for longer, but nothing will fail in the machine.

Which filters fit the dripper?

Standard cone paper filters, size 02. Rinse the paper first, then let the bloom do its work before the slow pour.

What does “no two alike” mean for my order?

We mix the glaze by hand for each batch, so drips, pooling at the foot and the colour of the rims differ from set to set. You get one set from the current batch, and it is one of one. We can't pick a specific look on request.

Where do you ship?

Across the EU, within a week of your order, from our workshop in Porto, Portugal.

What if something breaks on the way?

Each set is packed carefully for the journey. If a piece arrives broken, write to us with a photo and we will make it right.
