Kiln dripper, carafe and two cups together

Kiln is built to be used together. The dripper sits on the carafe and holds the filter. The carafe catches the slow pour and keeps it warm enough to share. The two cups are sized for what the carafe holds, so one brew fills both. Each piece is fired in Porto and glazed by hand, which means the set in your kitchen is the only one exactly like it. Look underneath: the foot of every piece carries the marks of the kiln.

No two sets alike

We mix every glaze by hand, so the colour gathers differently on each piece. Yours will pool, drip and break in its own way, and the foot keeps the marks of the kiln.

Made slowly in Porto

  1. A lump of raw stoneware clay

    Thrown

Each piece is shaped from raw clay and left to dry slowly.

  2. An unglazed fired dripper

    Fired

A first firing in the kiln hardens the clay before any colour goes on.

  3. A hand dipping a carafe into glaze

    Glazed by hand

We mix the glaze ourselves and dip each piece, so no two sets match.

  4. The finished Kiln set of four pieces

    Packed and sent

The second firing finishes the glaze. Then the set is packed and ships within a week.

Asked before buying

Is it dishwasher safe?

Hand washing is gentler on a hand-glazed piece. Rinse it after use and let it dry fully.

Will my set look like the photos?

Close, not identical. We mix the glaze by hand, so colour, pooling and drips differ from set to set.

What is in the set?

One dripper, one carafe and two cups, designed to be used together for two cups of pour-over.

Which filters fit?

Use paper filters sized for a cone dripper. Check the fit by setting one in the dripper before your first brew.

How long does shipping take?

Sets ship across the EU within a week of your order.

What are the marks on the foot?

Those are kiln marks from firing. Every piece carries them.

Why is there a limited number?

We glaze in small batches in Porto, so each firing makes only so many sets.
