A potter dipping a bisque cup into a bucket of glaze

We make Kiln in a small workshop by the Douro in Porto, with a gas kiln at the back and shelves of bisque ware along the wall. The name is the oven: every piece exists because of that one firing.

The clay is stoneware. The glaze we mix by hand, a bucket at a time, so it pools thick at the base and breaks pale on the rim. No two sets come out the same.

We fire in small batches, which is why sets arrive in waves. Batch 07 went to 1240°C and cooled slowly before we unpacked it.

Each box carries a card with the batch, the glaze and the date. We sign it before it leaves Porto.

Before you order

Small questions, answered

Made in Porto · €84 for the set · ships across the EU within a week · each batch is a small run, so sets come in waves.

Will my set look like the photos?

Close, not identical. Glaze is mixed by hand each batch and pools and breaks differently on every rim. Your batch card names the glaze.

How do I care for it?

Rinse with warm water after each pour. The stoneware is dishwasher safe, though hand washing keeps the glaze softer for longer.

Which filters fit the dripper?

Standard size 02 cone paper filters.

How long does shipping take?

Sets ship across the EU within a week of your order, packed in Porto.

What if something breaks in transit?

Each piece is wrapped in paper wool inside a snug box. If anything arrives broken, write to us with a photo and we will send a replacement from the next batch.
